There are always people like that. Instead of working hard and accepting that they may not always be the best at something and in turn work harder. They would rather use a cheat to get their faster. The problem with cheating isn’t necessarily that “cheaters never prosper” but at the end of all that cheating you still suck because you never did the work to get better and it was never your power to begin with. So it typically always catches up with them.
Duke is pitiful and really doesn’t deserve any sympathy however knowing what we know thanks to the context clues through out these chapters and others involving Duke. He’s actually a fairly capable and powerful awakened. Yet he ended up with a master who basically never took any real interest in him and whatever little training he was given wouldn’t make up for the constant growth and need for more lessons.
Anyways I think Schneider is the real problem.
