I mean, in the timeline he went back to it's not like the guy is dating anyone really. Doi also has knowledge that he was engaged to a guy in the future so he assumed he'd be fine with dating him. It's perfectly alright to approach him with the intent of dating, but I do think it was stupid of him to think the guy would just say yes to being with him lol

Yeah tbh I see your point. Looking at it from the mcs perspective tho, he sees it as a chance to find true love too. Cause his thoughts are like, "I was sent back cause the universe wants me to be with him, yay" so he's not really gonna care about if the guys from the og timeline were true loves our not unfortunately

The butterfly effect is going to change his future. One small thing that happens in the past that seems harmless is going to have a different outcome in the future. If as you said doi approached him with the intention of just dating him for a little bit, just the action of talking to him and asking him out would mess up baba’s future and he wouldnt be with his fiancé anymore. The timeline of his life would already have diverge into an alternate one. So it’s not about baba being single at the moment it’s that doi would have messed up his already existing future.
