Exactly!! The novel does a much better job at sticking to the theme and actually depicting the horrible situation/circumstances. It seems here the artist is choosing to throw in random scenes of cuteness and silliness which is so jarring ╮(￣▽￣)╭
The way the scenes/atmosphere goes from super intense and traumatising to then comedic and flirtatious?? Like bro it's giving me whiplash cuz how are they having banter after what's happened
