i haven’t reread litc in a while so i could be wrong but i assumed it was because he was drunk and it seemed like cirrus wasn’t causing issues for his father so it might’ve been easier to pretend to be a happy family i guess?? the “step mother” could’ve also been a factor of how he treated cirrus because she and cirrus obvi didn’t like each other but it seemed like he didn’t do anything to greatly upset her so she also pretended to like cirrus in front of the father up until he kissed skylar, but yeahh even then his personality from ch.11 to now is night and day!
I think at the time it was just showing how everyone was just playing house. As long as everyone fits in their role you won’t see the cracks.

iirc there was a guest that ate dinner with them so cirrus dad was basically playing the good caring dad to keep up the facade of a "happy family" but it was all fake
I’ve read all the chapters uploaded so far in one day, so I may have missed something, but why is Cirrus’s father in chapter 11 a complete different character than the heartless bastard that appear in all the other chapters?! I loved the whole story, but I swear this contrast has kind of bothered me throughout the reading!
