I don't think comments like this is a death threat. Someone is just venting their emotion, nothing more. I remember i also left comments "i want the author to go through the same torment as his uke character goes thanks to aithor" a couple of times to chinese manhuas (i dont even remember the titles). The reason was simple: according to the plot uke was going through cruel and vile abuse from seme again and again, his body was ruined by seme character, but despite that uke was still "in love" with him. This idea made me furious. There is no sane living being who will "love" their abuser after being tortured almost to death during a long period of time. There wasnt even any brainwashing in the plot - seme openly despised and degraded uke, and made uke's life painful and miserable without a shadow of doubt. So the plot "uke still loved his abuser romantically while being tormented" made my blood boil. I wished for the brainless author to experience such treatment himself and see if he is capable of loving a person who is ruining him. So that the author gain some realistic vision about love.
Idk maybeeee it's just me but "I want to k!ll the author" kinda sounds like a death threat to me
