He really is in a novel, one his sister and her friend wrote. Who also transmigrated as his brother together with gf. They thought, it would be funny, when they wrote it and put a character with MC's name, who was basically supposed to be him based on some of MC's bad experiences in, not so much anymore after they transmigrated and realized they were in their own novel lol.
All three of them died (I think), when a building collapsed in their OG world and got transmigrated (MC) /reborn (Sis/now bro and gf actually grew up in the novel) into their novel.
And ML in the novel is his sunbae, he is talking to at the beginning of the 6nd chapter and whom he had a crush on.
