i knew where this was going and still accepted the heartbreak and pain?? i wish i could erase my memories of this to read it for the first time again. im begging everyone to not drop this masterpiece and finish it!!!
the story was well-written and provided the necessary context to make out its future tragedy, it’s best put as a perfect shakespearean cliche. jean and max were truly the right person, wrong timing- and despite my own anger and disparity for the prince’s perfect performance, every decision and outcome made perfect sense. maximillian couldn’t have played a better villain, and with his outstanding wit and intelligence he still faltered in the face of love and hope. it really goes to show how undoing your own person is, and their extremes to keep each other alive didn’t go unseen by either being. i knew everything was a set up and all the fucking death flags were dancing like crazy, but i couldn’t help but wish his life miraculously survived it all. i love both the characters unhealthily, and wish they had more time with each other. its unfair how such a noble, loving soul bared all this responsibility and knew the only way to unite his beloved kingdom was a world without himself. im crying so ugly right now as i write this but i know they’ve found each other in another life and got to live out their painter and muse dreams with no troubles. im gonna go drink now.
