I understand the intention behind the storyline, but the way the relationships are framed feels too close for comfort, making it hard to enjoy the story. Even with the time travel and saving the FL. Like why adopt someone to save them? then to get in a relationship with them?? Was there no other way?? Why couldn’t he have just find her and marry her?? It still gives off a weird vibe for me. The plot would’ve been fine if she had no relationship with her family. She could have stumbled upon the dad (ML) had a brief conversation, and then sought him out for help because her husband was the abusive one. Or from what I said from above. The story could still work this way without the need for her to be part of that family in the first place.
As for your questions, it seems like the dad (ml) tried to save her without adopting her so many times in so many ways but couldn't. Adoption was the last thing that came to his mind to save her. But now he's too tired and on the edge of breaking to the point he thinks is she even worth it.
(I didn't read the novel myself, it's just what I understood from someone else's spoiler comment)
bc the antagonist from the temple wanted to use her for their evil purposes and to prevent that she needed to be under the protection of a family equally as powerful as the temple. in another timeline, she was actually adopted by sylvian's family and became his sister but that didn't work out. (my theory is that bc alternative brother sylvian doted on her and her life was generally peaceful she didn't develop the necessary strong will and skillset to survive. as opposed to the current timeline in which the abuse forged her to persevere. also alex was obsessed with saving her bc he loved her but that doesn't necessarily apply to sylvian's father.) and alex didn't want to adopt her, and he didn't want to be together with her even when she grew up and she came to love him bc he knew it was fucked up. he just wanted to save her and then retire to the countryside to rest but it was kanna who went to look for him and chased after him. my gripe? considering that rafael sacrificed just as much as alex, it doesn't make sense why she fell for alex, whom she knows is her future father instead of him.
not disagreeing, the quality really does down hill in the latter half and pacing gets messy, but the plot is interstng and the mls' regret is genuinely cathartic, cuz fmc holds a petty grudge and doesnt forgive them, and this alone makes it more enjoyable than other stories. if it wasnt for the incest, the story would surely be well-recieved as a dark drama OI.
Ik I read the first half before she saw her mother's painting in the secret room but when I knew from spoilers that "dad" was ML I was even more disappointed cuz tf is this daddy issue filled novel that I feel I wasted my time and energy into???? Even if she is not blood related to him or he was not blood related to the brothers it doesn't matter, incest isn't about just blood she knew him all her life as her neglectful father and practically had no presence in her life or the first half of the novel to end up with him is basically a message the author of turn ur daddy issue into invest if ur dad is Immortal and hot is disgusting
Read some comments saying the dad is the male lead… omg I’m sick to my stomach every male character is so shit and ass like please just kill me now
