I almost... ALMOST misunderstood the mc as a pushover Mary Sue who can't do anything other than acting pitiful to the emperor and receiving his protection... thank heavens I persevered because by chapter 9 I understood that's only a first impression, and she's actually a layered, realistically humanized vulnerable character prone to speaking with emotional frankness, and who that establishes humanized, emotionally frank interactions with other people (and more importantly, with the ML)
Edit: Still, I think I will still drop this for now... since it seems the ML has a(n unwanted) royal harem and the first arc will focus on the mc's catfights with the members. I simply can't stand royal harem's petty squabble stories, normally... (the only exception "I will fall with the emperor", for obvious reasons...)
