Often times when people have an enemy that they want to get rid of, bringing in someone considered a "common threat" will eliminate the "threat" of the current "enemy"
Like they say, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"; in this case, Kyle's brother (can't remember his name) is the enemy of the dwarf, so by calling the dwarf, there is a sense of allyship with the brother now, solely because he isn't a dwarf
