Girl their mad cause he used to be a man who lived by the standard of the world he lived in. Of course when a child is forced to believe that man should get to be whore's and was SA'd by a woman much older than him his gonna grow up thinking it's fine that so many woman are throwing themselves at him in other words hypersexual so they are mad that he had a promiscuous life style before he married. Also the SA is from a spoiler I read about when he lost his virginity and if I'm correct that's what happened to him

I read the novel and I never once hated him. See, from the beginning we knew both Ines and Carcel’s thoughts and BOTH were flawed people. Ines in particular was more unlikeable from her thoughts and Korean readers criticized her just as much as they criticized Carcel. The problem is, the manhwa erased Ines’s flaws from the beginning and focused more on her tragedies to get readers to pity her even when the novel narration was more like her coldly reflecting on her tragic past.
So, of course only Carcel’s flaws were highlighted in the first eight chapters of the manhwa and for that there are readers who cannot forgive him despite the fact that he is in fact a better person, objectively speaking, than Ines. He hurt no one with any of his actions throughout this entire story and all lives. He didn’t ruin anybody’s life either. And oddly enough, he was hurt the most by both Ines and Oscar in this entire story.
And as further proof that manhwa is biased, the author, Kim ChaCha wrote this on her blog to a fan who was upset that the manhwa made only Carcel look bad:
Hello Fan,
I fully understand what you mean.
But cartoons have limited scenes. That's what might be included.
Perhaps that's why, unlike the novel, Ines' selfish purpose was not emphasized. I am also sad that only carcel has become a bad character unilaterally.
I think they're both flawed people, and they're both bad people. To each other. They are selfish in different ways. Even when they were young, Ines overwhelmingly did. In the past life, too.
So in the early days when the novel was serialized, Ines was also criticized a lot. If carcel is the man who betrayed his fiancee, Ines is the woman who used her young fiancé.
I think that the two main characters are both imperfect people. And I think they are a perfect couple who can fill in each other's imperfections. No matter who blames them, each other is the best option for them. The journey to show it was my novel.

The novel was completed two years ago including epilogue and side stories which are all focused on Carcel/Ines and their families.
There’s an English translation released by Tappytoon which I greatly dislike because of the liberties the translator took with the Korean text. Others who never read the Korean version seem satisfied with it probably because they don’t know about the errors, bias and translator composition that were added and in other places, text was removed from the original Korean.
people hate carcel so much from his past actions but i dont think i can recall a time where i didnt like carcel??? except the REALLY earlier chaps like under 20-ish.. so like someone enlighten me when carcel was most trash bcs i can not remember for the life of me
