I kinda understand you but please look at the mother's perspective too she was afraid and maybe she cannot give him a better life since it's the father who is always working and earning so she didn't take him with her and maybe she doesn't have a courage to face after the death of his husband because she think it's her fault she think she's the one who kill him
yep i do understand all that. She had it really bad. But i cannot forgive her. She reached out to him 2 times just to abandon him again. And when he now is a fine adult with his own life, she barges in. No. If you decided to leave, you leave. that is. Go pray god for forgiveness, that's the only thing she can do

but this doesn't justify. She left her child with her abuser. DID YOU REALLY THINK HE WAS GONNA BE OK? only after seeing him all beaten up you decide to step up? and then run away again. SHE abandoned him twice with this run. and nothing will make me forgive her. Just understanding doesn't mean i ll forget the past.
