I so, so so agree. One of my favorite toxic romances without SA. I really hope Jihwan has development and eventually manages to sort things out with Sooyoung. I love Sooyoung's defiant and independent character and would hate to see him return to an abusive Jihwan, it would seem so out of character and disappointing. I also don't want to see Jihwan spiral and trap Sooyoung like his father did. Don't get me wrong I love a toxic romance, but the toxic to fixing toxic habits trope will always win in my heart.
mhm i agree, it’ll most likely be the first option! very curious to see how sooyoung will forgive jihwan and/or how jihwan will redeem his actions since they are severe. i hope sooyoung doesn’t bend quickly as other ukes and the author doesn’t feel the need to rush it to get to them having sex (happens to SO many good stories ) and i also really need jihwan suffering and actually regretting his actions after seeing the consequences. i definitely have fallen too deep into the codependency toxic yaoi route so that’s why i hoped for the second one but it’s highly unlikely in their story. sooyoung standing on his own two feet T_T
reread this.
they don’t make toxic yaoi like this anymore. lol i love their relationship so much because it’s not just sa like most of these manwhas these days. and i love how they actually gave jihwan a backstory— not to justify his actions but to explain them. from a young age his dad teached him that abuse/unhealthy obsession is love. i wonder if there will be a development arc or if sooyoung will miss jihwans abuse and go back to him.
(kind of wishing for the second option… (*ΦωΦ)ノ
