omg i’m rereading the series in korean and i never realized that the official english version cuts out the part of jihwan’s childhood where it’s heavily implied he kills the cat he was feeding… on the note of his childhood though i actually think it’s also kind of implied that his mom was going to kill the both of them - that’s why she wanted them to sleep together, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it. i wonder if jihwan felt abandoned subconsciously, and that’s why he killed the cat (because it was in a similar position to him with no mom)
