There's a difference with toxic and trashy. Damien is toxic yet he still has decency and he knows how important Chloe's family is.
While Alice's husband is cheap and trashy. He stole a daughter and sister without providing an ounce of dowry. Then made her a mistress and got her impregnated in that state. Then he's knowingly hiding a useless and incompetent former prince in his country and would not agree to help find his wife's brother-in-law. The least he could do was respect Chloe. That's the barest minimum. I'm really pissed. I'm even more pissed at Alice for not slapping that cocky bastard who disrespected her sister.
