I agree, but they crossed the fiction/reality line first. They’ve admitted characters in past works were based on real people they knew, and have (in the past) condoned similar treatment so… they may not necessarily be “fetishizing” the acts themselves but they clearly have a thing for power fantasies and see no issue with horribly mistreating others as long as they feel it’s justified. Idrc whether ppl hate read or enjoy it but I just felt it was important to bring up.

God I sound like this lady's personal PR agent but the person you're talking about, the author of Sadistic Beauty (not this series), Yeonhui Woo only mentioned in the 100 chapter special that Minho's personality was based on someone she knew in university. But I don't necessarily think that means she's condoning violence being inflicted on the real person. People have been saying online for years now that Minho was based on an ex boyfriend and that the author wanted to sexually abuse him. But I've yet to see any evidence of that. She just made a very brief statement that people have been over-analyzing for all these years. She also based elements of another character Gyerin's appearance off one of IU's music video concepts, but I don't think she wants to see the IRL person peeing herself or being forced into a sexual encounter with a man. I think there's a line between taking inspiration from your own experiences, what you know, what you see, etc. to write your stories and using fiction as a medium to sexualize and brutalize real people. I've never gotten the latter impression from her, but that's just what a lot of the dissenters who were mad Minho got a shit ending want you to believe.
