I don't want to totally spoil the reading experience for you but I think the dissonance of how Juyeon is drawn, i.e. cutesey and often chibi-fied compared to his actions is a deliberate thing. He's so 'cute' that Jiwook constantly lets his guard down around him even after being irreparably hurt by him. Don't get me wrong, it's mostly just a plot device so more #yaoisex can occur, but Juyeon's monstrousness at complete odds with his 'cuteness' is a big part of this novel. Not to mention the fact that he's completely out of touch and sees a lot of what he's done to Jiwook as totally benign and tame. He says in the next scene in the novel that he 'hasn't even done anything to him yet'. Which is um! Certainly a statement.
The tone of this doesn’t match the severity of its content. This mofo isn’t cutesy or funny he’s fucking awful and after the previous chapter there nothing “pretty” about him.
I’m interested to see where this goes and how the author will write this monster to somehow be sympathetic and redeemable for love.
