I think it always been hinted towards the ML, no? The friend problem with our MC is different. While the ML is always a fan of MC since MC started working as copywriter with that specific account. I think the author just want to trying to misdirected it, but it always been clear that it was the ML, never giving any suspicion to the Friend that he was the account owner
I agree with the op felt like the author was uncertain on how to reveal or even what to reveal
that was such a random reveal. it seems like the author was shifting from making the ml the owner of the account to making it his friend, and now it turns out to be the ml. this was poorly executed
