Anything can happen. They might have bought the sequel bit not original
Is it romance? It might be a sequel to a story about a side couple. I’ve noticed that sometimes happens in manga, where the uploader/translator only focus on the side couple’s story because they’re more interested in that dynamic and will leave out the prequel (the main cp's story)
I just saw a recent upload, this full manga was uploaded here and there was no comments or saves yet so i read the description "this is the sequel of *insert other manga*", said manga it's not posted on mangago
