Hiii, I saw somewhere that the mc has autism or something so I was wondering if it is true? Also if they do, how is the overall representation and portrayal in terms of accuracy? Thank you in advance! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

I've only read to chapter 7 so far so please take that into account. From what I've seen from him until now I wouldn't really say he is on the spectrum. The main reason is that he isn't annoying the top by being clueless and direct with his emotions like other autistic mc's do (Like sangwoo from Semantic Error or the ML from Rivalry). He's getting all the social cues and knows perfectly well what he is doing to piss him off but is still acting the way he does *because* he wants the top to loose his cool and act like the inspiration he's looking for. He definitely *looks* autistic for the other characters interacting with him, but for us who can read his thoughts he just seems like he doesn't really care ab how he's perceived as long as he gets what he wants. That personality trait is usually (and mistakenly) taken as a sign of being on the spectrum.

    Disaggree.

You know, as they say - if you know one autistic person, you know exactly one autistic person.

And your reason is so ridiculous - not annoying the top by being clueless so he's not autistic?

    A spectrum isn't linear - it's more like a circle or a sphere.

The Dohu is definitely autistic. The fact that he is slow to recognize his own emotions and uses writing as an outlet to process and recognize human emotions is a very autistic thing to do.

For example, I am similar to Dohu as I often don't recognize my emotions until weeks or moths later. But I put effort into understanding them, so I journal and reflect. That's because I'm interested in emotions, and so is Dohu. Other autistics may not be interested in emotions, so they take even more time to recognize them, like Sangwoo from Semantic Error.

As for social cues, Dohu can recognize them because he has put effort into recognizing them, so he could be a better writer. But he still misses a bunch and it shows.

And lastly, the most telling sign is his hyperfixation on a single person. Some autistics get hyperfixated on a single person, that person becoming their special interest, bordering on obsession, wanting to find out everything about them just because the person is so fascinating and interesting. It's very dangerous for us because it often gets mistaken as a crush - whether by the person in question or by autistic person themselves - but most times it isn't romantic at all. And it's exactly what happened here in this comic.

For other autistics - this is similar when a fictional character becomes our special interest. Just in Dohu's case, he got hyperfixated on a real person because he thought of him as a character.

So yeah, this representation is accurate.

ok first, as I purposely mentioned before, I was only on ch.7 at the time I wrote my answer so of course my reply would be bound to miss important traits of his character that were revealed much later in the story. Now I'm currently on ch. 47 and I can see more clearly that he indeed fits autism criteria.
Second, I'm sorry if my wording on Dohu being anoying or clueless somehow bothered you, but you need to take into account that not everyone here on the internet is fluent in english and might not know the exact words to communicate an idea. I might not have sounded that "ridiculous" to you if I knew the words to express what I thought accurately.
And lastly, I was just stating a personal impression the character left on me as an individual. I'm sorry if you felt like I was somehow denying your own autism for thinking the way I did about the character. I tend to be all about avoiding pathologization of behavior, so I tried to see Dohu from a different perspective. That's all.
