He was locked up in his room his whole life. So you're right, nobody knows what he looks like (except his family).
He wouldn't have any escort, when he was locked up bc ppl were scared of him. They wouldn't try to protect someone who could be a threat.

1. Unless he is completely useless mf with no empress or support behind him, this is not possible.
2. He has been sent off to war since he was a toddler & never came back, so no one recognises him now, then it's possible.
3. King or Queen or Crown Guardian has locked this prince in a tower where nobody has access to him, then it's possible.
And also, this crown prince has no guard or escort. What kind of useless & powerless royalty is this?!!!
