To me the big difference here is 1) the mc was a minor when he planned to have the ml raped and then forgot his actions due to a head injury 2) the ml has the mc gangraped 2x on top of the violent, dehumanizing abuse he continues to force on him. I refuse to see the ml as a victim because he chose to become a worse perpetrator than the mc.
It’s pretty clear the ml doesn’t care so much about revenge as he does getting off on mc’s suffering and dependency. It’s not truly hate. It’s just messed up selfishness and depravity.
I think revenge is supposed to be 2x worse than what the cause is. When something wrong happens to you, you dont think that the other person should suffer equally but rather, far worse and thats probably what ml thought too. But honestly i wouldn't wish this to happen to even my worse enemies. You're right, ml stopped being the victim when he made mc suffer more than what he went through. Its just obvious the author is a bit messed up in the head to write crap plot like this.
I think by their comment they are referring to what mc did in the past and not abt ml in the present.

Nah. U tell me a man as wholesome as Junji Ito is messed up in the head because what he wrote? I mean. The same principle. I think people can write some fucked up fiction and still normal because their moral never see fiction character as rl person, thus just thinking them as a mere play-doll.

I read somewhere that ml is doing all that and incoming far more worse stuff to mc because this is actually a revenge plot. Unlike sadistic beauty bl where ml tortured mc for NO apparent reason other than loving his tears, this one actually has a reason. Mc did horrible things to ml in the past, im not sure what they are but it was enough for ml to seek revenge on him in this way. Mc apparently had a memory loss after an accident thats why he doesnt remember anything about it, ig that added on to ml's hatred for mc. After a brutal gangrape segment that ml planned, mc is hospitalized seriously and only then ml starts to regret his actions towards mc, and mc also regains his memories and remembers what all he did to ml and what led ml to do all this to him. Mc begs for forgiveness and ml too regrets his actions, they both concile and end up together. So there actually is a plot and reasoning behind it. Just think about a character you hate wholeheartedly and want ded so much because of what they did to your favourite characters, now place that character in mc's position, now you might feel less bad for him dont you? Thats what it is, we are seeing this from the current perspective where mc is innocent and ml is a psycho but this is more like mc is the perpetrator and ml is the victim seeking revenge. I still feel bad for mc coz idk what exactly he did to ml in the past but my view might change when we get to know it later. Tho i wont be reading it until its over, its too much for me gawd, i want to have my peace of mind.
