You know...I always wondered what happened to the people from Edith's old life in South Korea?

How did they take the news of her death?

Did the Golden Child Brother went into hiding or still on the run from debt collectors?

Did the parents retrieve her body?

Coworkers think about on how they approach people?

Scummy Ex?

Anything?

You know now that you say this, I don’t think I’ve ever come across a novel adaptation that goes over what the main world thinks about the loss of their person. They just skip all of it and let them only consume the fantasy world I’d love to see what goes on in the modern setting like a flashback of some sort.

"Edith" gets to see her brother scurry away (not without filching her corpse to fish her credit card, because he's nice like that) and finally gotten by police (no remorse at all). The parents lament a little (this part is a little blurry in my memory), but ultimately also do not really SEE what they did to her while she was alive, so they turn to yapping about their son even during her funeral)

I remember it differently? I remember her getting to see what happened and the brother part is correct, he still doesn’t care. But the parents were crying and grieving over her and were upset at what their son did. Which is why Edith felt bad but also comforted that they did actually care for her, so she felt she could move on.

I've read a few ones.. I think the most prominent example is Penelope, where we see how her family takes her death in the original life..
then there's also trash of the count's family where the Original life/world is a major plot point in the whole story (and we get to know about bis past and so on)

so far none of those two have reached that part, but as those events are important parts of the narrative, they won't get cut

In the novel, she comeback to modern world for a moment as a dream and during that time, her parent regrets not taking care of her,her coworkers barely came to her funeral, her ex also regretting for not meeting her, because if they met,she not gonna die..
