I don’t think she was an adult yet. It said on the brink of adulthood so she could have been 16 or 17. That would make her only 3 or 4 years older than him. Where as the dad is still probably at least 10 years older than her mentally.
Honestly I feel bad for the ml....like she's a grown woman and obv will not take him seriously.
I can't begrudge her doing whatever just to secure her future butt she shouldn't string the poor boy along what is he, like 13?? He was forced to marry and once he falls they're probably gonna reveal it was a sham breaking his little heart. Bro tell him and let him know....
Also the fact she's closer in age to the dad now it's kinda uncomfortable
