Thanks once again, Pixie. I was great seeing Garam open up completely to Jaehyuk. This tells me that he isn’t hesitant anymore about their relationship and that he fully trusts Jaehyuk. This was a pleasure to behold, they’ve truly come a long way in their relationship. I think beyond the ex being an obstacle to their relationship, because let’s face it, Garam isn’t gonna put up with his foolishness and Jaehyuk won’t let any ex come between him and his love, that Jaehyuk’s mom may actually prove to be the biggest obstacle to their happiness. I have a sinking feeling she won’t be as accepting as Jaehyuk would like. Hope I’m wrong though.
Right, I was so proud of them this chapter Garam is truly moving forward with Jaehyuk and leaving the past behind. He has Jaehyuk to rely on, and he can laugh now even after recalling his past. And yeah I also think that the mom could be a bigger problem, but I trust that Jaehyuk can deal with her unlike the ex who let his mom hit Garam.
It’s also makes me wonder if Jaehyuk homophobia came from his parents; like he most have learned it somewhere
We do know they more conservative
While Jaehyuk was absolutely dick to Garam at the start lots of his PHYSICAL actions to Garam just seems off, like… idk how to explain it… it was obvious he was attracted to Garam
Cuddling, forehead kisses; Hell even suggesting that Garam will only have him as a sex friend. Seemed weird when rereading this manhwa
(I might have an habit looking too deep in facial expressions of characters)
Idk, lots of actions speaks of internalized homophobia more than anything else
Looking at any scenes he has with women he doesn’t seems attracted to them really;
Idk idk idk
(I’m in no way defending the way Jaehyuk acted to Garam at the start btw; I love his character development. I just LOVE going into the psychological aspects of characters when they first introduce. Gosh I hope author will not disappoint us with Jaehyuk past and how developed his attitude at the start)
(I’m most likely looking too deep into it lmao)
His father seems kinda chill tho. I think his mother is the typical strong and strict Asian mom but not necessarily homophobic. She's a hard working person who doesn't want her son to become a spoiled and irresponsable rich brat (too late?! lol). Actually Jaehuyk is surprisingly a good student and it looks like he didn't turn as bad as his mom seems to think
Right, I also think he's a good student, he's just not an overachiever. I was talking about how Jaehyuk was a womanizer and how he didn't took dating too seriously before Garam.
I agree that we can't judge yet if his parents (mom in particular) are homophobic and that they just don't want him to be irresponsible. But I think the thing is with parents who are too strict, their child would end up doing the opposite like play around in secret because they were too restricted at home lol that's how I think they could've influenced his behavior.
But yeah not really sure if it'll be tackled in the story.
- Garam says that Sehan (his ex) works at the first floor of the company's building. Jaehyuk asks if Garam is leaving him because his feelings returned after the bastard apologized to him, and Garam got goosebumps and told him not to say creepy stuff. He says that their relationship can't go back to the old days even if Sehan apologized.
- They started dating after Garam stole a kiss while Sehan was sleeping. Sehan woke up but was smiling at him, and Garam thought it was a miracle that Sehan liked him back.
- Sehan invited Garam to his house one day. Garam didn't want to go because Sehan's mom was scary, but Sehan insists, saying his mom was at the church. Sehan asks if he just doesn't want to go to his house, and Garam ends up agreeing to come.
- Sehan's mom caught Sehan on top of Garam that day and got really angry. Sehan blamed Garam for liking him and said that he just didn't know what to do.
- Jaehyuk is listening to the story while they're at a restaurant and talks shit about Sehan. Garam adds that Sehan dated a girl in his class one week after their breakup, when the bruises from being beaten up by Sehan's mom still hasn't healed.
- Jaehyuk got so angry. He says he should've punched the guy. Garam asks if he wants to get arrested, and Jaehyuk says he'll just pay the fine. Jaehyuk then talks about how they could beat up Sehan without committing murder, and Garam laughs at him.
- Garam thinks that it was hard for him to recall what happened, but he didn't think that he would be so relieved after telling Jaehyuk everything.
- They bicker about who's gonna pay the bill after dinner. Jaehyuk gave his card to the cashier, but it declined. He had forgotten about his problem with his mom.
