Yes yes, sadly enough. (You don't have to read this yapping I'm just adding onto it)
It's probably another reason why the omegaverse is openly disliked while still getting a lot of attention. We are all aware of this, but it doesn't stop me from feeling a bit annoyed when I have to skim through multiple works a day and am constantly being hit in the face by blatant homophobia, rape, sometimes pedophilia, incest, abuse etc.
It's hard to dodge all these bullets when we live in a world where everyone is trying to cope with romanticization
I would think even if it was written by women, we would still see some stories where the men don't just look like a woman with a flat chest and female anatomy traits mixed in, but sadly it feels like a rarity. At least the ones being promoted.
All of these authors need to capitalize off something, and what better way to do that then to hop on the bandwagon and draw the most shocking (typically sexual) content with stunningly good art to make a few bangs for your buck TT
I don't blame them entirely but it's too much and others have also noticed the overwhelming increase too
I hear you bro. But it's the law of demand and supply that wins in the end. While some dislike the content they read, they still form the minority. And as the demand has not slowed down, we'll continue to see said content. I suppose the simple message from authors and publishers is that anyone that finds it offensive should not read.
I'm kinda sick of these, it's just another one to add to the bin of pilled up garbage that only grows bigger by the day. (Nothing against historical manhwa, I've seen some rare good ones) but I'm so sick of male homosexuality being seen as "the woman in the relationship" simply because that is the whole point, there is no woman..
I just skimmed through like 5 different bl's and like half of them had this element. It's weird how nobody questions it, (both readers and characters in story) but now that I think about it, it could also be because of homophobia (both internalized and from outside pov, cope medicine) or perhaps due to the men in these stories just being a replacement for women with nothing more or less to contribute to themselves other than a source of entertainment
