the way taboos, trauma, as well as the bad parts of ourselves are discussed makes these characters so painfully relatable. i found myself rooting for all three, because of their thought processes and how they discuss troubles deep within themselves/how it manifests in their relationships with others. its heartbreaking to see yourself in them- for having to uphold expectations, while being an overall people pleaser so that the fear of abandonment shrinks as small as possible. a common theme i noticed with this author is how loneliness and the inability to understand love deeply doesn’t make us lesser beings- but people also deserving of room to grow and seek help. patience, compassion, and consideration is what makes life worth living even if we ourselves can’t grasp the concept of it
