I kept hoping the victim would get away and get some justice, but in the end he just gave up. Sure you can argue that it's supposed to be psychological, but the ending doesn't have to be "twisted" for the story itself to be considered psychological. Giving the victim a revenge arc would also have been considered psychological. It teased at that possibility but that fizzed out pretty quickly. Unsatisfied with the ending.
