    It’s because blood isn’t really red when it is in your veins. It only turns red once it comes in contact with air (oxidation).

    Blood is always red bc of the hemoglobin. It's bright red when bonded with oxygen and more of a brick red when not. Veins only appear blueish bc of our skin. If you would take blood directly out of a blue vein (without coming into contact with air) it would still be red
