No, i genuinely feel bad for the MC? Idk, all the characters, except for Kokono since she just born and the other staff, look at MC as if he is Roku, his grandpa. Repeatedly saying how he looks like him and all that. Even at the end Takuma still visiting Roku's grave and thinking about wanting to be together with Roku. But then he realizes that he had Hachi that want to be together with him and genuinely love him. Idk maybe this is just me overthinking the whole thing. Sorry lol
