????? She probably has been calling him that since she was a child??? And since Byul didn't push back, it's probably an accepted way to address him??? Please do not bring your personal sensitivities to freaking OMEGAVERSE story........Even in mafia/CEO stories that are non omegaverse the bottom usually gets called Madam or sister in Law
Girl, you a literally reading an omegaverse. Where men literally give birth. And you think there is misgendering because *checks notes* a person who gives BIRTH is being called a mom? If you read this and think he is being called a mom simply because he's a bottom then I don't even know what to say.
Firstly, as someone said below. This is a work of fiction. The whole point of "misgendering" is if the person identifying as a specific gender does not get called their preferred pronouns. By that logic, the one doing the misgendering here is YOU. Because, from this body of work, it's very clear that Hyesung does in fact identify as a mom/aunt. Who are you to decide what Hyesung considers his gender? I swear, sometimes y'all try so hard to be left so hard y'all go right. Smh.
Hyesung being called 'mom' is understandable since he gave birth to Byul, but calling him 'aunt' is outright disrespectful. He is a man and identifies as one, regardless of being an omega. Being an omega doesn’t diminish his identity as a man, and in all the stories I’ve read featuring omegas, I’ve never encountered one being called 'aunt.' But sure, whatever helps you sleep at night.
I get that fiction allows creative freedom, and omegaverse rules aren’t set in stone. But even in fiction, character identity matters. Calling Hyesung 'aunt' feels inconsistent with how he identifies as a man, and that’s the issue I’m pointing out. Sure, there’s a first for everything, but not every 'first' sits well with the audience. It’s fine if it works for you, but I’m just sharing my perspective as a reader.
Well, that's fine to have that perspective. But if his neice is calling him "auntie" I'm sure she didn't just start doing that at her big age, and it's something that Hye-sung is obviously okay with. I personally do not see an issue with it. I do not care how any man chooses to identify. Men in the LGBTQ+ community have been using the terms "girls, autie, Mama, femboy, mother, lady, lady boy" and some while identifying with male pronouns. Like, even in Korea there are men who would call other men Oppa or women who call other girls Hyung. Again, it was never an issue for me in the first place because I never cared how people chose to identify regardless of gender.
And because this is - once again - an Omegaverse, the norms are of course going to be very different to our universe, including how characters identify. And since this is the author's work, they are the ones who get to choose whatever norms they want. It is, again, all fictional, and Hyeseung has again, never objected to being called as mom/auntie. The reality is, regardless of however you may feel, Hyesung was not treated with any disrespect. You're the ones offended on his behalf.
The disrespect in this one is real !
Why are you calling a male mom and aunty ?
