Exactly! This isn't jealousy but guilt and incompetency. Like he knows she is abused and has to let it happen, that's the most unsettling part about it, seeing her suffer.
you get it. like, i understand why people think he’s jealous because he has his suspicions about the knight & his feelings for the female lead but as his thoughts progress you can see that he’s not even alluding to being jealous. that look on his face is more of him seeing himself in the knight & feeling incredibly guilty, useless, & furious at himself.

That's also correct but he was jealous too, if you read the novel, you'll understand his feelings much better. Right now both the ML and FL are confused about their true feelings for each other because neither are familiar with romantic feelings that well, most especially the FL. The ML married her out of duty and also to save his family but he didn't expect to start having feelings for her and also such a strong one.
yall the male lead isn’t jealous. he’s far from feeling that right now. he’s actually furious at himself because he feels as if he’s just as bad as the people who abused her. he feels responsible even though it’s not his fault but he can’t help but to think about the crap she endured & the fact that she has to continue with this “act” because she’s not completely 100% free from it. he’s angry at himself because he feels hopeless the he cannot do as much as he’d like for her. he sees himself in the knight because the knight loves her & tried to protect her but there was only so much he can do. there’s no jealousy just him making an astute observation about him & the knight.
