Cuz omegaverse is stupid. It's basically a way for artists to draw their fetish but at the same time:
-Gives them an excuse to draw grape and SA with the whole rut/heat thing
-Gives them an excuse not to adress what actual gay couples face (homophobia, taboo...)
-Gives them an excuse to draw heteronormative couples (tall bulky top with a small, almost child sized bottom), or basically a bottom who pretty much looks like a short haired woman with a pertruting clitoris.
This is how it works in omega verses you just have to get used to it, there are even Alpha females who can get male omegas pregnant and are called Dad.

i wanted to play the devil's advocate and say that there are actually a few good omegaverse stories with respectful alphas, addressed real life issues etc but... a few is even an overstatement, you're absolutely right with everything you've just said
