Is it some kind of a time loop? I mean.. He dies and goes to the future (passing of those 8 years) but that S rank student girl have some sorts of premonitions in which the world is ending and possibly J will die. He also says that the "visions" are like the real rift he was in.So when he dies he goes to the future again after 8 years and everything is repeating until happy ending?? I just picked up the book but I am really curious.. I am on right track? :D

The enemy is the unavoidable apocalypse swallowing earth. This is the third timeline and first timeline Lee Sa-young died. Second timeline Cha Eui-Jae dies. Now its their final attempt. And the novel will re-live each timeline one way or another through a dungeon or memory dungeon to be more accurate and going through the tragedy. The bonus is seeing different perspectives of their lives if it played out differently, so this is their only chance for a perfect attempt to save the world from the apocalypse.
Damnn, half of it is right! but you're theory is really close because there's actually 3 worlds and he already use that 2 worlds and now this current one is the last one of the worlds, and the rifts is actually the vision of the other worlds during apocalypse and now the apocalypse is slowly approaching this current world of his that's why the vision is showing, there's more but i fear i can't explain it clearly
