I don’t think it’s really about xenophobia or even if it was it’s justified. This story is clearly about fighting against colonizers. Aliens have taken over positions of power and wealth in a society, under the pretense of “saving” the humans, while also forcing humans to assimilate to their systems and slave away for them. Sound familiar?
The audacity of calling others of having no media literacy when you are the most media illiterate here. Aliens having more power than humans and more advanced technologies, making humans worship them for "saving" them from an invisible threat? Sounds like a coloniser rather than an immigrant, and you didn't even think about that just coz you're so hellbent on virtue signaling. I'm not sorry to burst your bubble, you are the ignorant here failing to distinguish between colonisers and migrants lmao.
I think people are trying to blatantly ignore and discredit the fact that this could be extremely xenophobic. People aren’t “reading too much into it”. You just might have no media literacy.
