I don’t think so. From Beryl’s perspective he’s pretty far from them. I think what Shaia was seeing was either 1)a jealous Beryl because they were just talking about him and garu so Shaia is kind thinking “would he be jealous seeing me talk to hugo?” Or something like that. Or 2)hugo kinda looks like beryl so he’s reminded of beryl because of that.
