It's 'cause people are weird about characters having prior love interests or even sexual experience.
I got tired of counting the times I'd seen people say shit like "I really wish they had stayed a virgin till they met the current lover" a long ass time ago. I call them "purity perverts" 'cause they can't see a character or person past their virginity status. It's best to just ignore them.
I feel like he didn’t LIKE like the tutor but he did like her as a person ig. I think he was just mad that his brother blatantly used her to get at him when he realized something (I forgot.. was it that she liked him or something idk?) and he punched/fought him bc that was such a disgusting thing to do.
Jihwan emphasizes that he can read people pretty well so he was pretty sure she was crushing on his brother.
He beat the brakes off his brother 'cause he knew that he didn't genuinely love Minjeong and was using her feelings to get back at him.
So yeah, you're right lol Jihwan is just a decent guy with a shit family. I'm happy him and Doha found one another and are living the cozy life together.
Wow! This guy was a huge green flag that I wasn't expecting (⌒▽⌒) I do see the backstory being confusing and the unexplained type causing y'all to be like he liked her. I'm still on the fence because him being respectful to others was something he displayed to his friends (telling him to give it a shot with the beautiful girl he had a crush on) and with the girl he tutored. I kind of feel like the girl wanted to be tutored by the brother but the dad said no he's my heir, he doesn't have time for this. I can see how he's mad that the brother only asked the girl out when he thought the ML liked her. On the girl's end, I do think she liked the brother. Who would very quickly start dating their friend/rival of many years? (⊙…⊙ )
So I feel like the words might have been to the brother or him. I'm not sure though. I feel like maybe it could have been a bit more clear in the original language. He can read other people's emotions, so he probably knew the girl likes the brother. He could have figured his type out prior to her. I think more side stories will make it clear.
I'm not understanding how this ruins the story though. MC is CLEARLY not a rebound or a substitute. ML is always looking AT him. He doesn't compare him, he's always watching and caring for how MC reacts. Even if it turns out that the ML did like her in the past, he does not treat the MC as a placeholder or replacement. We went all into MC's backstory and now it's ML's backstory turn. Y'all are literally DNF-ing the greenest story. ( ̄∇ ̄")
