Opinions on guideverse?/guideverse recs

Honestly I don’t really like it that much, all the guideverses I’ve read so far are all the same cliches, esper can’t find a good guide, good guide comes along, esper doesn’t want him, then they end up liking each other anyway. So what are your thoughts on it? Also it would be really nice if u could recommend me some good guideverse manhwas! :)

I don’t have much of an opinion on guideverse, I don’t really read it, nor do I actively search for it. But here are two that I am reading that don’t have the issue of the esper disliking the guide (However, they both still follows the cliche where the esper can’t find a suitable guide until MC comes along):

    - Ordinary Person A
    - Guiding the Eccentric Tyrant

Both of these are BLs and are ongoing btw

im sorry i found it so fucking boring no hate towards people who like the concept, it's just not my cup of tea. There are few that i like but most of them are just ass tbh. Cant you make the ml have a personality or not make them batshit mental or just make them a normal person. I personally like guiding hazard (forgot the other titles of other stories)

Would like to stay for some recommendations as well.

I used to think guideverse will be okay as a new 'verse' world, but after reading a couple I got tired quick because as you said it's all the same cliches. My other main issue is the guiding is always sexual and it upstages all the potential plot and action that was promised with them powers. Because why tf is this a world where people have powers to fight monsters etc but the story only focuses on these two dudes fccking all day and night? Wth. I've only read like 1 that doesnt require sex to guide. Furthermore, if either the esper or the guide have their own (normal citizen) romantic partner on the side, would it count as cheating if they utilize sexual guidance??? If they refuse to guide due to loyalty to their partner, then they're out of a job, no? And not all guides/espers end up falling for other, right?? So then the other issue is guides and espers just get passed around until they get to one they like? Or are they even allowed to retire if they find these conditions unlikable? This verse world is fucked up and boring the more I think about it. My only hope now is cakeverse since it's the only one I havent read yet.

At first I thought it was such a breath of fresh air to see something new, but after reading around 5-6 unfinished manhwa with this trope I can say that I dropped all of them once the yearning part is over. Everything that comes after was rather bland because the ml was too obsessive that the story felt too restraining for me ( ̄へ ̄)

Havent read enough but the ones I have read so far either
    1. Focus on alot of action (which I tend to get kind of bored, cus if I wanted to read action I would prob read smthing non bl)
    2. As they do in omegaverse, use the guide verse “rules” to include a bunch of smut

Fr. It's same as ABO with limited concepts but it's new genre give it a little time cuz BWATs were eating this genre and I'm pretty sure whole fandom gonna end up in therapy by the end of that manhwa.
Also there was one more manhwa where guide pegged the esper ( I mean esper) was the bottom. The plot wasn't really cliché like they hate guiding etc etc. it was really good. It was more like mc had some trauma from his first guide and second guide was healing that trauma. Quite good

i like it. i think at the moment guideverse is relatively new so it's full of cliches, but i still have enjoy guideverse a lot because
    a) sometimes i'm in the mood for cliches and
    b) i think guideverse has a good solid foundation where the worldbuilding makes sense, and in time authors are going to start deconstructing and exploring the guideverse tropes, so we'll eventually get some unique and well written ones

omegaverse has a good foundation as well and it's been around for so long that authors have already done the deconstructing thing, and they have produced more unique omegaverse stories that explore alpha/omega dynamics in the sense of societal expectations of performance or fated love etc, rather than your cliched heat stories. i feel like guideverse would go in that direction in time.

i don't have a recommendation for a manhwa, but my favourite guideverse is a bl novel called runaway esper. i really like this novel because of how heartbreaking the main character's life and experiences are, but also i like that it subtly explores how espers are dependent on guides to not lose control - and if the availability of guiding is controlled and limited by the higher ups, espers can actually be easily manipulated through fear, despite their enhanced strength and abilities etc. it's a bit of fresh take on the esper/guide dynamic
