It’s the guardian with the emblem, I don’t think either the dad has it or he may have had a brother who died and ML dad may have inherited the title of duke and the emblem passed down to ML. This is my theory and just a guess
If the heir to the dukedom of each generation has to die because of this guardian stuff how come the father is still alive?
