Also I'm pretty sure when the screen says "If he goes back the world will be destroyed" they mean if he goes back BEFORE saving the world then the world will be destroyed. If he saves the world then goes back home AFTER then the world will have already been saved and he can go home.
On a personal note (meaning how I would feel in his situation) - even if going home means inevitable world destruction then so be it, I ain't got a hero complex and I want to go home dammit! Their world be damned! These are my personal feelings of course as I love my family waaaaaaaaaaaay more than a world full of strangers.

Yeah like family comes first also in an unfamiliar world with unfamiliar people what are we supposed to do with a frail weak body plus some ppl have severe anxiety when meeting other ppl so how are we supposed to Save a world when we can barely take care of ourselves (ik this doesn't apply to everyone)
Ngl if I were in mc's position I would probably pick my mom over lover since my parents are my life without them I'm nothing all go through any sort of hell for them although if I did have I lover in another world I'd miss them but my parents come first(that's me though others may pick their lovers over parents but I would probably break down without them)
