He royal might be told him to shut his mouth and gather all the information as a knight Because fl's family doesn't trust either royal or the fl's real father's family. This is my guess
What i got is that
1. The bastard lied saying he's a wandering knight to Regina.
2. The bastard is womanizer that's why connie (the liar bitch) hated Regina and ended up killing her.
3. The family think it fishy especially since the man doesn't looks like a wandering knight so they didn't approve that Regina want to marry the knight.
4. Regina was under age (around 16 or 17) amd the bastard is much older (25+) than she is when thy ran away.

I mean, tbh I don’t think Regina can be at all blamed. First, those are the times where age gaps like this were pretty normal. Second, she was literally a child, she was originally naive but also very easily influenced (as she was just a teen), so of course she didn’t know any better. If she didn’t have someone she could trust or open up to in the family, it’s also no wonder she just run away. Third, can’t call that seducing. It’s grooming.
