It's not that she's pursuing him, it's that she's doing while knowing her friend is interested. Hell, she's doing it solely because her so-called friend is interested. It's the garden-tool behaviour that irks me.
The author could've made her less hated just by not spinning the whole she knows bs coupled with a backstory that makes her pure trash.
