For anyone who wants to read this

First of all, if you are ok with heartbreak, give this a chance.

This might seem predictable in plot, but the pace of the story, the art, the characters, everything will leave you immersed. So even if you know where it's heading, you can't stop. The plot twist though will leave you shocked as it did the mc.

Secondly, this might be a personal opinion, but be prepared to fall in love. Like literally, fall. Cause I've never felt more in love with a character like Maximin. Everything he is, from the kindness he carried 10 years ago to his current disguise is devastatingly painful. But at the same time, you will start to love the pain this beautiful man will give you.

The way the MC loves him is so personal like it's you falling in love with him.

Lastly, I know this will leave you in pain but in this numbing, autonomous society maybe shading a few tears and feeling something will make you feel more alive. Because after I've cried for a good few hours, still am, I just can't get the picture of Maximin gently calling his country "My Joachim."

He held so much love, so much sacrifice, so much to give, and he didn't change his mind even after he and the MC fell in love. I wonder what he felt like, leading a nation doomed since the beginning. He might have felt helpless, trapped even with his circumstances, but he still made a difference for the better.
