Pacing is weird as hell

Am I the only one thrown off by the pacing? First season up until around when Chul-jin appeared was easier to follow. Lots of loose threads and mysteries left in first season. Initial switch to Norman's story was a bit weird, but played pretty well with the 'background character became detailed while main characters fell into background', but the sudden switch back to the main couple and flashbacks of various characters threw me off.

We were in the middle of the love triangle between our favourite slutty freak, the twisted drama queen sunbae and the creepy rapey hoobae. They just disappeared to go back to the previous season couple without advancing anything? When that same couple had completely disappeared from the plot during the love triangle chapters?

I thought flashbacks would clear up everything, but unless the translation is bad (which doesn't seem to be the case at all), the Chuljin/Jaehyun/Minwoo is so unserious? I would understand if Suyong was the one with a issue with Chuljin, but Jaehyun and Minwoo seem so overblown. I kind of get their individual issues, but to think it's supposed to be the big trauma that made them all so twisted is just? Idk, we went from a season of plot with sex scenes to a season of sex scenes with plot then sudenly back to full plot, but cut so weirdly.
