It was shorter than the first Doku Mushi but still pretty good. So to summarize: Reiji wasn't in this Kodoku(or this story except for flashbacks). That was a red herring from the start. Emi was part of the same cult responsible for the first story's Kodoku that Michiko was a part of. Michika met Yukitoshi who tried to get him to join the first story's Kodoku, but Mari's father stopped that from happening. Mari and Reiji's child miraculously survived and the cult tried to make her their new holy one after Michiko's death. They wanted Emi to raise Towako(Reiji and Mari's daughter) and have her become the lone survivor of another Kodoku, but it failed and Towako dies from a mortal wound, And Emi locked the cult in the building so they're all dead. And finally: Emi set up this story's Kodoku so she can curse herself and go to hell to be with Towako, but like Michika said Emi won't be able to survive on her own. She's now in prison, still believing that Towako is in hell.
