Forgiveness is better than living with a heart full of endless grudges and hatred. It truly depends on the person, which is why it is a "cliche" that forgiving your enemies seems foolish.
Like a cop once told me forgiveness is better for who exactly the victim or really the one that hurt them. Not everyone deserves forgiveness and just because you don't forgive doesn't mean you're living a life full of hate. If anything having such an idea shows more you're looking for a moral high-horse then actual forgiveness, because you can't force it and doesn't actually look the way you described it. Real forgiveness varies person by person ;)
This story is packed with clichés. I find the FL who’s forgiving to everyone, even those who hurt her, really hard to relate to. If clichés and feel-good tales are your thing, you'll probably enjoy it. It’s well-crafted, but just not my style.
