i mean a form of sympathy executes imo perfectly the very complicated relationship of two characters with many flaws. Oh believe me yuri lowkey never changes, his "personality" will be as shitty and toxic as ever, cause well, he is a spoiled brat with anger issues who was never loved by anyone, truly.
But it is precisely why teacher is such a perfect compliment and only he works with him, because, well, he reallyyyyyy does not care. Yuri is a BITCH who is making his life alr worse, but teacher is in such a bad mental state that yuri's pestering is nothing more than another of thousand bad things in his life, if anything, he is mildly annoyed, and when serious, he puts a hell of a good stop. If Yuri is getting his way, it's because the teacher is allowing it.
Yuri in my opinion get's sooooo good later, as in [SPOILER] a pathetic mess, but a CORRECT ONE, i- i don't want a "fix him", yeah, let him be a prick and a red flag, who will have it's way only because his senior is way overindulging him, even though it tires him, he wouldn't have it any other way, but will instantly falter at any sign of avoidance he gets.
Really, they match each other's freak at the end of the day, and the teacher makes his petty ass suffer not even on purpose. Yuri's biggest enemy is himself, and it shows it perfectly at how petty he gets with the things he wants, and unreasonable when he can't get them, like aah uuh perfectly not very sane human being.
He has his moments, where normally not everyone will excuse his past nor future behavior, but really, they were exactly what our deeply depressed teacher needed, and, istg, as a 30+ year old, I promise, he knows it's insane, but is old enough to know what is making him good.
And loveliest of all? He still plays a big role in putting a stop to yuri's antic, when they are extremely uncomfortable or borderline crossing the teacher's limits. So yeah, is it obvious a shape of sympathy is my favorite manwha?
JJEJEJ IM SO GLAD!! I love it because there is such a bad repertoire of toxic male leads out there, they are always borderline psychopath criminals with no redeeming treats or extremely thought on “cynical” leads to the point of just being unrealistic. I guess i love Yuri being refreshingly human and consistent with his flaws, and how they are never actually romanticized by the writer nor the protagonist, nOR the people around him
Yuri is pissing me so off in form of sympathy I hate him sm
