opposite. single moms in japan are considered priority well that's what i've seen so far with my friends. if the father will not take any responsibility for the child the government will give allowances which is 15k Yen per month and slowly increases when the child turns 3 y.o up until high school ofc this benefit varies by the annual household income. to so basically if by chance your statement becomes true then it's not really that bad for the mom. except for her mental and emotional health, it's all gonna be up to her how she will handle and take things as they are
