Because more than anyone he should be more understanding of others misfortunes when he himself was bullied and miserable in his past life, now he regressed and keeps using other people's knowledge, system and his knowledge from his past life to get stronger, even got another one's master. So I don't see where he gets all that ego from, when he just keeps cheating actually. It's like you go to the exam hall and cheat on the smartest guy combined to chatgpt and your own knowledge and have a better grade than him then you rejoice as if it was actually the fruits of your efforts.
i get where your coming from but this isnt the modern world, you cant compare cheating on a test (which will have consequences) to having a cheat ability in a fantasy wolrd where all one needs to be is strong. it isnt about fairness, he was kicked out for not having aura, and now hes just beating up the kids that were horrible to him. he even helped the pureblood girl in his own way, he doesnt have to serve it on a platter. he called that guy pathetic because he was, that wasnt the future him, he let himself be bullied by the people he was serving. we all know how strong he was during the duel, even the mc had a difficult time. so why was he letting them trample on him. the mc quite literally saved him and now hes coming begging, the mc tested him and let him be. he wasnt being arrogant, he jist knows from his past life that in the world of nobles and strong knights he needs to be different from his past self. the system was given to him, he didnt steal it nor did he beg for it. so if youre given something so broken for free, ofc you’d utilize it. he cant be humble in his situation, he needs to show people who he is, thats the only way he’ll rise to the top
The people he’s calling pathetic have had better chances and treatment than he’s had. It’s like comparing someone with Google maps to a person who uses a literal paper map. Yeah he had years of experience because of his old life, but essentially he’s still the guy that everyone looked down on and now he’s ahead of them even without getting the same benefits.
