I mean, not only are there no gay characters really, but if you tally all the sex scenes in order

I don't think M/M sex scenes really occur any lesser than F/M sex scenes in this title. It's a title with really only one prominent female character after all.
For anyone that's curious, NO it's not a BL. It's straight romance. It just happens to have a gay character. And a few gay scenes but overall, it's straight.
